BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 36-year-old Billings man who pleaded guilty to biting a police officer was given a five-year suspended sentence with the Department of Corrections.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/14qCJyb ) District Judge Russell Fagg sentenced Jebadiah James Cole on Monday. Cole pleaded guilty in November to felony assault on a police officer.

Prosecutors say police responded to a domestic disturbance in August and during a struggle with Cole, he bit an officer.

Fagg dismissed one misdemeanor count each of partner or family member assault and obstructing a peace officer. He ordered Cole to pay a $2,000 fine and $785 in restitution.
