LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say the death of a 24-year-old man found hanging from a tree in a Los Angeles’ Griffith Park was an apparent suicide.

Coroner’s Lt. Fred Corral says the body of Levi Moscowitz was discovered Saturday. An autopsy is pending.

City News Service says Moscowitz pleaded no contest in October to one felony count of meeting a minor for lewd purposes.

The charge resulted from a sting operation run by a police detective who answered a Craigslist ad placed by Moscowitz.

Moscowitz was sentenced to one day in jail, a year of counseling and five years of probation.
