BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - New signs on three renamed streets that will be going up in Brookings this year will deepen the city’s ties to South Dakota State University.

The Brookings Register reports the City Council approved the changes last month on the major entrances to the campus.

Thirteenth Avenue north of 6th Street will be renamed Campanile Avenue; 16th Avenue north of 6th Street will be known as Jackrabbit Avenue; and 11th Street east of 16th Avenue will be called University Boulevard, which is north of McCrory Gardens.

SDSU will pay for the signs and installation costs.
