BOSTON (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be among the guests at the inauguration of Massachusetts Gov.-elect Charlie Baker.

A spokesman for Baker and a Christie aide confirmed Monday that Christie planned to attend Baker’s swearing-in ceremony at the Statehouse on Thursday, and was also expected at an inaugural gala that evening.

It is one of several inaugurals that Christie plans to attend for Republican governors over the next couple of weeks.

Christie is considered a potential 2016 GOP presidential contender and served as chairman of the Republican Governors Association last year.

New Jersey treasury officials have been reviewing a $10,000 donation Baker made to New Jersey’s Republican Party in 2011, shortly before that state’s pension fund invested in a venture capital firm with ties to Baker.

The governor-elect has said there was no wrongdoing.
