ANGOLA, Ind. (AP) - Court documents say a northeastern Indiana woman who survived a double stabbing that killed her daughter was on the telephone with emergency dispatchers while her son attacked them.

Records documenting the frantic cries of 72-year-old Linda Peppler of Angola were included among court documents filed Monday charging 49-year-old Jeffrey Peppler with murder and attempted murder in the Saturday night attack on his mother and the slaying of his sister, 52-year-old Paige Peppler. He’s being held in the Steuben County Jail in Angola.

The call to dispatchers began with the younger woman saying her brother had been drinking and was battering the mother. She then said her brother was coming after her before her mother began speaking to dispatchers.

A telephone message seeking comment was left with Jeffrey Peppler’s public defender.
