DALLAS, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say two teens are charged as adults in a fatal shooting during a drug deal and attempted armed robbery.

Paulding County Sheriff’s Cpl. Ashley Henson said in a statement Monday that 16-year-old Randy Frederick and 15-year-old Trent Lee Jacobs are charged with murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery in the death of 18-year-old Gage McGee. They’re being held in separate youth detention centers and court officials are unsure if they have attorneys.

Henson has said the two arranged to buy marijuana from McGee, who was found dead in his car on New Year’s Eve in Union.

Henson says one of the teens pulled a gun on McGee after he met them and McGee was shot after an altercation. Henson says McGee tried fleeing but died before crashing his car.
