JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A 28-year-old Juneau man is accused of assaulting a taxicab driver over the weekend.

The Juneau Empire (https://is.gd/EmLu0L) reports Jackson Buchanan was arrested early Saturday after police responded to a Front Street disturbance.

Buchanan is represented by city public defender Thomas Wagner, who did not immediately return a call for comment Monday.

Authorities say a 911 caller reported people were holding down a man who assaulted a cab driver.

Police say Buchanan was identified as the person who assaulted the driver. According to police, Buchanan was uncooperative and was subdued with a stun gun, and he continued to resist.

Police say Buchanan injured one of the arresting officers, who is expected to be fine.

Buchanan is charged with assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief.
