LUVERNE, Ala. (AP) - The weather service says at least three tornadoes touched down in Alabama over the weekend.

A damage survey released Monday shows an EF-2 twister struck Crenshaw County near Luverne before dawn Sunday. A home was damaged and chicken houses and other buildings were destroyed.

The National Weather Service says a weak tornado also touched down in west Alabama in Hamilton on Saturday evening. A twister with 85 mph winds damaged one home and uprooted trees in the area, but no one was hurt.

Forecasters say another weak tornado with winds estimated at 80 mph downed trees in Sumter County at Cuba on Saturday.

Additional storm surveys are continuing. Minor flooding is being reported in mostly rural areas in western Alabama from the weekend storms.
