SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Santa Fe police say a homeowner fired a warning shot into the ground to scare off a suspected burglary, leading to the arrest of a woman on suspicion of burglary and other crimes.

The Santa Fe New Mexican (https://goo.gl/3h1kKI ) reports that the arrest occurred Sunday afternoon near the home where the homeowner fired the shot after a woman allegedly broke a window and armed herself with a piece of glass.

Lt. Andrea Dobyns says 32-year-old Erica Duran was arrested on a nearby street on suspicion of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, concealing her identity and criminal damage.

It’s not clear whether she has an attorney.
