COVERT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Some security supervisors are suing the owner of Palisades Nuclear Plant in southwestern Michigan, saying they’re owed overtime pay.

Michigan Radio reports (https://bit.ly/1KeqK79 ) 18 current and former supervisors filed the federal lawsuit in Grand Rapids after a jury in Vermont last year found that Entergy owes several Vermont Yankee nuclear plant security specialists more than 5,000 hours of overtime pay.

In the December case against Palisades, the supervisors say New Orleans-based Entergy Corp. hasn’t paid them for overtime since the company bought the plant in Van Buren County’s Covert Township in 2007.

Palisades spokeswoman Lindsay Rose says in a statement that “regardless of the eventual outcome, Entergy is committed to safely, securely and reliably operating Palisades.” She says: “Entergy always strives to create a fair, equitable and safe work environment.”
