GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Police in Greeley say a fire that killed a 3-year-old girl Saturday broke out while she was left in the mobile home alone.

Police say the girl lived in the home with her grandmother, her mother, 27-year-old Kristen Braig, and her mother’s boyfriend, 34-year-old Dustin Blanchard.

The Greeley Tribune (https://bit.ly/1tJYPqA ) reported that the grandmother was in Fort Collins when the fire broke out. Police say the little girl’s mother and boyfriend were watching her but left her alone for an unknown amount of time when the fire started.

Braig and Blanchard ended up being injured in the fire and were treated at a hospital and released.

They will be booked into the Weld County Jail on suspicion of child abuse for criminal negligence resulting in death, a class 3 felony.
