PROVO, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a 26-year-old Utah woman faces charges including resisting arrest, assault on a police officer and driving under the influence after witnesses reported following her speeding car on a wild ride from Lehi to Provo.

The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1zOgppY ) that Mary-Elisabeth Thomas of Provo is accused of kicking an officer during her arrest Sunday morning.

She was booked into Utah County Jail on charges also including driving with a suspended or revoked license, failure to provide identification and an ignition interlock violation.

Witnesses tell police that Thomas’ vehicle was driven fast and erratically from Lehi to Provo before she was stopped on North University Avenue.

Police say she scuffled with officers while being handcuffed.
