The jobs are in a variety of areas including archaeology, range management, recreation, engineering, wildlife and fire.

The jobs pay about $12 an hour. The agency says they’ll be posted this week to the government’s official website, www.usajobs.gov. Some applications are due as early as Jan. 12.

Temporary employees typically work through the summer season, beginning in May or June and ending around Labor Day.
