LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Centra has completed its acquisition of health insurer Piedmont Community Health Plan.

Centra bought Integrated Healthcare Incorporated’s 50 percent share in Piedmont for $7.5 million. The deal closed in late December.

Lynchburg-based Piedmont serves about 30,000 participants.

Centra President and CEO E.W. Tibbs tells The News & Advance (https://bit.ly/1xAi4T3 ) that participants’ insurance rates won’t increase this year.

David J. Brady has been named president and CEO of Piedmont.
