DALLAS (AP) - A Florida man has been charged with beating an off-duty Dallas police officer who tried to remove him from a cellphone store.

Dallas County jail records show Thomas Davidson of Lake Wales, Florida, was being held Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault against a public servant, assault on a public servant and criminal trespass.

Bond was set at $130,500 following Sunday’s incident involving an officer working security and an alleged payment dispute. Investigators say the pair struggled and the officer was struck at least three times before both men ended up on the ground.

The officer used a stun gun to subdue the 26-year-old suspect. Both men were treated for unspecified injuries.

The officer’s name wasn’t released. A message left with an attorney for Davidson wasn’t immediately returned.
