LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Kansas coach David Beaty began filling out his first staff on Tuesday, which includes hiring Rob Likens away from California to serve as his offensive coordinator.
Likens had been the Golden Bears’ assistant head coach the past two seasons.
Je’Ney Jackson will serve as strength and conditioning coach, Kevin Kane will coach linebackers, Calvin Thibodeaux will handle the defensive line, Klint Kubiak will coach wide receivers and Gene Weir will handle high school relations.
Beaty already had announced that Clint Bowen, who had served as the Jayhawks’ interim coach this past season, would be retained as defensive coordinator. Reggie Mitchell will continue to coach running backs and Louie Matsakis will serve as director of personnel.
