NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - Staff at Muskegon State Park plan to plow snow along South Scenic Drive to offer some access for ice fishing and winter trail hiking.
The state Department of Natural Resources announced the plans Tuesday to keep the Snug Harbor parking areas open at the park.
South Scenic Drive leads to Muskegon State Park’s South Channel Campground.
The road will be closed for the winter when drifting snow and blowing sand can no longer be removed to provide safe public access. Additional parking may be available for Lake Michigan access at the North Campground near the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex.
