CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have made an arrest in the fatal street shooting of a southern New Jersey man.
Camden County prosecutors say 29-year-old Camden resident Vincent Coleman is charged with murder in the death of 27-year-old Vincent Burnett, who was shot multiple times Monday afternoon.
County police found Burnett when they responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Thurman and Pershing streets in Camden. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation. But prosecutors say a witness said Coleman had recently warned Burnett to stay away from the area where he was shot.
A U.S. Marshals Task Force took Coleman into custody Tuesday afternoon at a Camden home. It wasn’t known Wednesday if he had retained an attorney.
