BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a fire at a home in St. Clair County where a man died doesn’t appear to be suspicious.

Michigan State Police Detective Sgt. Daniel Drake tells the Times Herald of Port Huron (https://bwne.ws/14sdsnh ) that the investigation into the fire and 66-year-old Thomas Tsafaroff’s death were ongoing.

The fire was reported Tuesday morning in Burtchville Township by a passer-by and Tsafaroff was the only person at the home.

The home is located about 60 miles northeast of Detroit. Burtchville Township fire Chief Mark Harrington says there was fire damage to the bedroom, living room and kitchen. The rest of the home had smoke, heat and water damage.
