MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a woman who was critically injured in a fire at an abandoned Muskegon Heights house slated for demolition has died.

Muskegon Heights Fire Chief Christopher Dean says in a statement that Jennifer Gillis died Tuesday after being on life support following the fire the morning of Dec. 31.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1BKzXhG ) the cause of the fire hasn’t been determined. The house lacked gas or electrical service, and Dean has said people inside were believed to be squatters. Another person in the house was injured in the fire.
