MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - Police in the southern Oregon city of Medford are looking for a burglar who hit three homes, netting electronic items and a gun and letting out a pet dog that was later fatally struck by a car.

The crimes were reported late Tuesday afternoon after homeowners returned from work.

Lt. Mike Budreau says neighbors saw the man back his vehicle up into driveways of the homes. Items taken included a 9 mm revolver, a camera and lenses, a laptop computer, a 32-inch television and two video game consoles.

At one home, police say the burglar left open a door, allowing a shiba inu dog to get out and be hit by a car.
