PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey says he’s keeping four of former Gov. Jan Brewer’s department heads on his cabinet.

Ducey’s office announced Wednesday that corrections director Charles Ryan, transportation department chief John Halikowski and emergency and military affairs head Michael McGuire will stay with his administration. Also retained was Tom Betlach, who oversees the state’s Medicaid health insurance program, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System.

Ducey says all have done exceptional jobs overseeing their respective departments and their expertise managing large agencies is indispensable.

The head of the Department of Economic Security, Clarence Carter, resigned Monday.

Ducey has not announced any other department head moves.
