DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Rebecca Greenwell scored 20 points, including the game-winning free throws with 26.5 seconds left, as No. 13 Duke escaped with a 74-72 win over No. 21 Syracuse on Thursday night.

Greenwell set up her own clutch free throws when she rebounded her own missed shot underneath and was fouled, and the Blue Devils (11-4, 2-0 ACC) survived two close-in shots by the Orange (10-5, 0-2) in the final five seconds. Diamond Henderson had a shot from about eight feet on the left baseline and Cornelia Fonderon couldn’t get the putback to fall.

Elizabeth Williams added 16 points for Duke. The Blue Devils shot 54 percent, including 9 of 15 from 3-point range.

Brianna Butler led Syracuse with 23 points, including two of her seven 3-pointers in the final minutes, the last tying the game at 72 with 50 seconds left after the Blue Devils had led by 15.

Duke had 25 turnovers that Syracuse turned into 28 points, the last a shot clock violation at 1:16 that allowed Butler to tie the game.
