LOS ANGELES (AP) - Power has been restored to residents in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles where a huge tree fell onto power lines.

The Department of Water and Power says 2,293 customers in the neighborhood lost power shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday.

The tree toppled at Griffith Park Boulevard at Lyric Avenue, completely blocking the road and taking down at least one power pole.

The DWP reported around 10 a.m. that all power was restored but removal of the tree is continuing.
