NORTH BAY SHORE, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say 29 people have been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following carbon monoxide incidents at two separate industrial sites.

Suffolk County police received a call around 2 p.m. for 22 people suffering from possible carbon monoxide poisoning at a USA Industries plant on Wisconsin Court in North Bay Shore.

At about 3 p.m., police were called to a nearby USA Industries site, on Candelwood Road. Seven people were hospitalized there.

A police spokeswoman says none of the injuries appeared life-threatening.

The spokeswoman says it appears space heaters were being used.

A message left at USA Industries was not immediately returned. A website describes it as an auto parts maker. A Newsday story last year said the plants were due to be closed.
