CINCINNATI (AP) - The chief justice of the Ohio Supreme Court is promoting the importance of donating legal work.

Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor planned to be in Cincinnati on Thursday evening to discuss pro bono (BOH’-noh) efforts with the Pro Bono Partnership of Greater Cincinnati in a session at Procter & Gamble Co. headquarters.

The partnership seeks to help meet business legal needs for nonprofit organizations that serve the disadvantaged. The group pairs clients with pro bono attorneys from corporate employers and other volunteers.

O’Connor has been on the state’s high court since 2003.
