FENTON, Mo. (AP) - A robbery suspect is jailed after a crime that led to a brief school lockdown in St. Louis County.

St. Louis County police say the man walked into a Pier 1 Imports store near Fenton on Thursday and demanded an employee’s purse. He ran away without the purse and stole an Aramark delivery truck.

Police followed the stolen truck to the parking lot of Guffey Elementary School, causing the school to go into lockdown. A tow truck driver used his truck to block in the stolen truck, which crashed into the tow truck.

The suspect tried to run away but a county officer used a stun gun to subdue him and arrest him.

The suspect’s name was not released. The school was locked down for about 10 minutes.
