WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Department of Health says it has received a report of a brine spill about 15 miles north of Williston that has reached surface waters.

Summit Midstream reported that an undetermined amount of produced water was released from a saltwater disposal line and impacted nearby waters in Blacktail Creek downstream from Blacktail Lake.

An environmental contractor for the company is on scene for cleanup and remediation. The state Health Department and North Dakota Oil and Gas Division personnel have responded.
