LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) - Police in Lumberton say a second suspect in a fatal New Year’s Eve shooting has turned himself in to authorities.

The Lumberton Police Department told multiple media outlets that 19-year-old Artiz Quante Bowden came to the police department Wednesday night. Police had no hometown for Bowden.

The second suspect, 22-year-old Cory Matthew Deese of Lumberton, was arrested on New Year’s Day.

Police say Bowden and Deese are accused of shooting 39-year-old Rafat Yaser Abdebiziz during a robbery attempt. Investigators say Abdebiziz was found dead inside his vehicle in the parking lot of a store.

Bowden and Deese are charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle and two counts of conspiracy. They’re being held without bond and it’s not known if they have attorneys.
