JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The first Arctic air of the winter season has settled over Mississippi.

At 4 a.m. CST Thursday, temperatures ranged from 10 degrees at Tupelo to 15 at Jackson and 23 along the coast at Gulfport.

When you factor in the wind, the feel like temperature at Tupelo is a minus 3, Jackson had a minus 3 and 11 at Gulfport.

Freezing temperatures will remain over most of the state Thursday.

Forecasters say night time lows will be above freezing by Sunday night and the highs over the weekend will return to the 40s.
