HONOLULU (AP) - U.S. Congresswoman Rep. Tulsi Gabbard plans to get married in Hawaii in April.

Gabbard spokeswoman Erika Tsuji on Thursday confirmed the nuptials but said she didn’t have any further information.

The wedding was first reported by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The 33-year-old was first elected to Congress in 2012. She won the seat in a landslide and was re-elected last year. Her district includes suburban Honolulu and neighbor islands.

Gabbard previously served in the Hawaii Legislature and the Honolulu City Council.

She is one of the first female combat veterans elected to Congress. She is also the first Hindu and the first American Samoan to sit in Congress.
