NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Federal prosecutors in New Orleans say a 67-year-old Westwego woman has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud.

A news release Wednesday from U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite (poh-LEET’) says Cynthia Hefler had worked as the office manager for A&H; Armature Works, a Westwego motor and generator repair company.

Hefler pleaded guilty in a case that involved embezzling from that company’s bank accounts to pay off her gambling-related credit card debt.

Polite’s statement says Hefler faces up to five years in prison. She is to be sentenced on April 1.
