CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Three pit bull dogs at a rescue center in Natrona County have died in a trailer fire.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1yHj3Tm ) that the fire Wednesday killed three dogs and injured a fourth.

Fire Marshal Bob Fawcett says the fire started when a mattress fell against a propane heater inside the trailer. The trailer was being used to shelter the dogs.

Firefighters from Natrona County and Mills responded about 3 p.m., as one of the owners was trying to get the dogs out of the trailer.

The injured dog is expected to recover. No people were injured.
