PHILLY OFFICER SHOOTS AT CAR THAT DRAGGED HIM DOWN STREET, RAN OVER HIS LEG

City police say Officer Joseph Kochmer fired once on the fleeing vehicle as it raced from a traffic stop Thursday morning at an intersection in the city’s Strawberry Mansion section. The suspect, arrested later in the day, is being charged with attempted homicide and other crimes.

UNION OFFICIAL TESTIFIES THAT IRONWORKERS BOSS SAID ‘THIS IS NOT JUST A PICKET LINE, IT’S A WAR’

The testimony comes in the trial of Joseph Dougherty, who headed the Philadelphia Ironworkers local. He’s charged with leading goon tactics to intimidate non-union work sites, including by setting fire to a Quaker meetinghouse built with nonunion labor.

But investigators are still not revealing how many members of a U.S. Marshal’s-led task force were present, and what agencies were involved when 47-year-old Leslie Sapp III was fatally shot at his home early Tuesday. Police have said the officers fired after Sapp brandished a BB-pistol.

JC PENNEY CLOSING FIVE PENNSYLVANIA STORES THIS YEAR

The department store chain says the stores are among roughly 40 under-performing outlets that will close by April 4. The Pennsylvania stores closing are in State College, York, Media, Chambersburg and Hummels Warf. Some 334 people will lose their jobs.

BUTTER STATUE MEANS 2015 PENNSYLVANIA FARM SHOW IS READY TO ROLL

The 24-acre show bills itself as the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation. It opens Saturday. The sculpture made from 1,100 pounds of butter depicts a life-sized food bank worker pouring milk into a boy’s cup while his mother looks on holding a bag of groceries.
