CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Chattanooga coach Russ Huesman has agreed to a contract extension through the 2020 season, getting his second boost in 11 months.

University officials made the announcement Friday.

Huesman signed an extension through 2018 in February. Then he coached the Mocs to a school record for wins in going 10-4 and taking them to the quarterfinals for the first time in team history.

Huesman is a three-time Southern Conference coach of the year.

Athletic director David Blackburn says what Huesman and his staff are doing is outstanding and that he deserves his new compensation package of $230,738 per year. Huesman also got more resources for his assistant coaches.

Huesman is a former defensive back for Chattanooga. He is 41-29 in six seasons. The Mocs had won only 44 games in the 12 seasons before he arrived in 2009.
