OOLOGAH, Okla. (AP) - Classes are canceled for a second straight day for the Oologah-Talala school district following the death of a 6-year-old kindergarten student.

There are no classes Friday in the district and testing in an effort to determine the cause of the child’s death is still being performed.

School Superintendent Max Tanner told reporters on Thursday that the Oklahoma State Department of Health has said testing thus far indicates no need for antiviral medication of vaccinations for anyone who might have had contact with the girl.

The health department has said that whatever caused the girl’s death is not a public health risk.

The girl died after being sent home Monday with a fever.
