CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has so far agreed to one candidate forum ahead of his February bid for a second term.

Emanuel campaign spokesman Steve Mayberry said Friday that Emanuel will participate in the Chicago Women’s Mayoral Forum on Sat. Jan 24, where other major candidates are also speaking. Mayberry adds that debates could be added to Emanuel’s schedule.

Mayoral candidates Alderman Bob Fioretti and Cook County Commissioner Jesus Garcia plan to participate in that forum, along with several debates.

Fioretti has repeatedly called on Emanuel to participate debates. Fioretti’s campaign spokesman says the alderman’s schedule features nine forums and debates.

Garcia says he’ll participate in at least six debates, including the forum and three hosted by Chicago television stations.

Business executive Willie Wilson is also challenging Emanuel.
