GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - State wildlife officials are seeking information on the death of a young wolf along the Rocky Mountain Front west of Augusta during hunting season.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say the wolf was illegally killed Nov. 7 or 8. Hunters spotted the carcass on Nov. 8.

The wolf, which had been born in the spring of 2014, had been fitted with an orange radio collar.

Anyone who saw the dead animal is asked to call Warden Kqyn (KWIN) Kuka at 406-750-3574 or call 1-800-TIP-MONT (847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
