OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed an Afton man to the State Board of Career and Technology Education.

Fallin named David Stewart to replace Karl Meyers on the board following Meyers’ resignation. The appointment must be confirmed by the state Senate.

Stewart is chief administrative officer and trustee of the Oklahoma Ordinance Works Authority in Pryor, which is a public trust that operates the MidAmerica Industrial park. He was appointed to that position by Fallin in 2013.

Stewart is also a former president and CEO of Cherokee Nation Businesses and Cherokee Nation Entertainment.
