SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A Caddo Parish judge has denied a motion by former Shreveport fire chief Craig Mulford to throw out his indictment.

Mulford faces five felony counts of malfeasance in office.

The Times reports (https://bit.ly/1xYMVrp ) that Judge John Mosely Jr. sided with prosecutors Thursday on the dismissal motion

Mosely has not ruled on Mulford’s allegation that he’s being unfairly singled out by investigators. That motion will be heard March 30.

The indictment stems from a Shreveport Fire Department scandal in which four firefighters allegedly abused an intellectually disabled man. Mulford is accused of failing to report the abuse and trying to conceal information about the situation to investigators. He was indicted last June and fired from his job in September.
