ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Rochester say they’re investigating two fatal shootings that occurred within six hours of one another at separate locations in the city.

Officials tell local media that the first shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. Thursday near an intersection on McKinster Street, where officers found a man dead from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The second shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. Friday in a parking lot at a bar on Thurston Road, where police say a man was found shot on the ground. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police haven’t released either victim’s name.

The killings are Rochester’s first two homicides of the year.
