LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 74-year-old man who hit a state trooper’s car along a suburban Detroit freeway didn’t stop because he said he was late for a flight.

State police say the trooper was at the scene of a spin-out crash on snowy roads Friday morning along southbound Interstate 275 in Livonia when the vehicle hit the patrol car.

The trooper tried to stop the driver, but he kept going. The trooper eventually was able to box in the vehicle.

No injuries were reported. Police say the Troy man was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and careless driving before being released.
