LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A 50-year-old woman was killed in a two-car accident on Thursday in Lafayette and police have charged the second driver with vehicular homicide.

Lafayette police spokesman Paul Mouton says a SUV collided about 7:30 p.m. with a car driven by 50-year-old Jeanne Tatman.

Mouton says Tatman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mouton says the driver of the SUV, 43-year-old Miguel Reyes of Lafayette, was transported to a hospital and later booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Reyes is also charged with driving under suspension and third-offense DWI.
