CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - WorkForce West Virginia is teaming up with Hilton Worldwide to assist veterans seeking employment.

Called “Operation Opportunity Initiative,” the program provides hotel accommodations free of charge to help veterans who are being interviewed for jobs, skills training or housing searches.

The program is available to veterans, current members of the military, the National Guard and reserve, and eligible spouses.

Under the initiative, eligible service members and veterans are awarded credits once they have registered with WorkForce West Virginia and completed an application at a WorkForce office.

Hilton says the program is in addition to the company’s plan to hire 10,000 veterans.
