GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Gulfport man will be sentenced in Sept. 24 after admitting to conspiring to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute it in Harrison County.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1T0V2xu ) Omar Dancer entered a guilty plea this past week in federal court in Gulfport and agreed to forfeit $30,000 in illegal cocaine proceeds.

Prosecutors say the 42-year-old Dancer was party to a scheme to distribute the cocaine in Harrison County over a year’s time starting in February 2014.

Dancer faces maximum penalties of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
