HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall University’s School of Kinesiology will hold a camp to teach people with disabilities how to ride a two-wheel bicycle.
The Lose the Training Wheels Camp is scheduled for July 20-24 at Huntington High School.
The fifth annual camp for participants at least 8 years old is co-sponsored by the Paoli, Pennsylvania-based nonprofit group iCanShine. A lack of funding put this year’s event in jeopardy, but camp director Gregg Twietmeyer says donors came through.
The camp can accommodate up to 35 participants. Registration is $100, but scholarships are available.
Marshall says in a news release that iCanShine staff members travel the country conducting the camps and have an average success rate of more than 80 percent.
