JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Meridian chief administrative officer Mike McGrevey will join the Mississippi Development Authority next week as deputy director.

The announcement was made in a news release Tuesday by MDA executive director Glenn McCullough.

McGrevey will start work at the MDA on Monday. His last day in Meridian is Thursday.

McGrevey has worked for Meridian Mayor Percy Bland since February 2014 and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the city and its 475 employees. Bland says he will name a replacement soon.

In 2010, McGrevey was named president and COO of JBHM Education Group where he worked for four years. Before joining JBHM, McGrevey was vice president of finance and administration for Mississippi State University for two years.
