NEW YORK (AP) - Prosecutors say a New York City police officer is facing up to a year in jail after his conviction stemming from a prostitution sting.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown says Luis Gutierrez has been convicted of official misconduct, patronizing a prostitute and conspiracy.

The DA says that Gutierrez was caught while on duty in February 2013.

He first approached a dancer who was really an undercover detective and offered cash in exchange for sex.

Authorities say that the next day, he offered money for sex to a detective who was posing as a 16-year-old girl.

He’ll be sentenced on Sept. 21.
