SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The driver of a Jeep going the wrong way on Interstate 15 in a Utah crash has died.

The Spectrum newspaper reports ( ) Thursday that 18-year-old Jessie N. Wilkerson of St. George has died.

Utah Highway Patrol said the woman wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was pinned in her Jeep Cherokee after driving it north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Fillmore on Wednesday morning.

The vehicle collided with a white Honda car going in the right direction, which left the Honda driver Larry J. Martin of West Jordan and rear passenger Kaela Hernandez of American Fork dead at the scene.

A man in the front passenger seat was hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities say impaired driving is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash.
