BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Police in Bismarck have searched a van owned by a North Dakota doctor missing in southwestern Montana.

Patrick Fitzpatrick was last seen in Bozeman, Montana, on July 3. His vehicle and trailer were discovered abandoned in a rural area the next day.

The sheriff’s office in Montana’s Gallatin County asked Bismarck police to search a van the 74-year-old Fitzpatrick left parked in front of a Bismarck fishing tackle shop when he took off for Montana in a different vehicle.

Business owner Wade Anderson told KXMB-TV that Fitzpatrick had rented a space next to the business to park the trailer.

Fitzpatrick is described as 6 feet tall and about 250 pounds, with gray eyes and white hair. He wears glasses. Acquaintances tell KXMB that he likes to shoot photographs in Montana.
